Opportunities for Advancing Geothermal Energy Development in the Western USA

Description
Webinar sponsored jointly by Washington Citizens Climate Lobby and the Pacific Northwest Regional Interest Group of Geothermal Rising.
Ed Butler is one of the organizers of the Geothermal Rising Pacific Northwest Regional Interest Group and also is a volunteer with the Washington State Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL). The Citizens' Climate Lobby is a non-partisan advocacy organization with members throughout the USA. Two of its priority areas in 2025 are Permitting Reform and Building Decarbonization, which align nicely with Geothermal Rising’s mission. Geothermal Rising is having its annual Geothermal Hill Day in mid-May and in July, CCL will convene over 1,000 volunteers to meet with most members of Congress, from all states and most legislative districts. There is a growing interest by CCL in geothermal energy. This webinar is an opportunity to bring these communities together. The presentation will provide an overview of geothermal energy, how the Western US can apply it to its growing needs for electricity, and will cover relevant public policies that can accelerate geothermal deployment.
