Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)
Responsible for a full range of activities, which will ensure the operational effectiveness of all the Calpine Plant assets. Will be responsible for building profiles and creating financial models to optimize the Plant asset’s productivity. Will focus on identifying opportunities for cost improvements, and manage projects to meet the cost improvement objectives. Will prepare cost estimates of new or special projects for establishing selling prices and production forecasts.
The efforts managed by the Asset Management Analyst provide consistent implementation of activities based on data collection and analysis throughout operations, improving operational reliability and efficiency. May analyze and put systems in place to maintain or enhance operational effectiveness. Will design and document workflow and make appropriate recommendations that will positively impact operational effectiveness and will track and analyze business unit trends to in turn make appropriate recommendations that will positively impact the unit.

ISGS is seeking to hire an Associate Research Scientist, Engineering to develop and review engineering designs and models of geothermal systems. Position is based in Champaign, Illinois.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Serve as the lead engineer and discipline expert on multi-scale geothermal projects from single buildings to large district-scale systems.
Act as the technical specialist competent in the design and analysis of geothermal bore fields and geothermal ground modeling simulations within a multi-disciplined engineering and construction environment.
Oversee the planning and completion of subsurface investigations for geothermal projects involving field and laboratory activities, including geothermal borehole in-situ testing.
Manage multi-disciplinary project teams that may include researchers, private subcontractors, and stakeholders.
Identify relevant research needs in the geothermal discipline and pursue new research opportunities.
Pursue externally funded research projects by preparing and writing contract and grant proposals.
Serve as principal investigator, co-principal investigators, and senior personnel on geothermal research and development projects.
Write geothermal engineering reports, including technical drawings and design specifications, and scholarly research papers.
Mentor early career engineering and geoscience professionals, including graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in geothermal engineering, geological engineering, geotechnical engineering, or related engineering discipline. Alternate degree fields will be considered depending on experience as it relates to this position. At least five years’ professional experience. Expert knowledge of energy modeling for buildings and thermal energy networks (e.g., TRNSYS and DOE codes). Experience developing numerical simulations and computer codes (e.g., Python) including the use of high-performance computing (HPC). Experience in engineering report writing and preparing contract proposals and documents. Experience utilizing and developing databases. Valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications: Expert knowledge of groundwater flow models (e.g., DOE codes, MODFLOW, or FEFLOW). Experience developing Building Heating and Cooling Load Modeling and Life Cycle Cost Analysis to support design development and alternatives analysis. Expert knowledge of borehole heat exchanger and geothermal design, modeling, and simulation software (e.g., GLD, GHLEPro, COMSUL, Modelica, and DOE codes). Certified Geothermal Designer and Licensed or immediately eligible for licensure (within 6 months of employment).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to effectively manage research as a principal investigator and supervise and mentor associated personnel. Effective communication, personal relations, collaboration, organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a diverse and fast-paced work environment consisting of multiple and varying priorities with stringent deadlines, under minimal supervision. Has excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team setting with scientists, engineers, and staff at the University of Illinois, state and federal government agencies, other academic/research institutions, and industry. Work Environment: The work of this position takes place primarily in an office setting with occasional work in a field setting. Travel is required to attend meetings and perform fieldwork including overnight travel for up to one work week at a time. Position involves domestic and international travel. Fieldwork may be under adverse conditions (e.g., inclement weather, remoteness, moderate physical exertion). Position involves lifting and manipulating field equipment and other items weighing up to 50 pounds over uneven terrain. A security clearance may be required to access some field sites.

Community Resource and Engagement Specialist (CRES)/ The Alliance for Tribal Energy
The primary focus of the Community Resource and Engagement Specialist (CRES) is planning, delivering, coordinating, and evaluating technical assistance programs that build the capacity of Tribal communities to address environmental and energy justice priorities. This position is one of a team of five full-time, community-facing staff central to the mission of the Mountains and Plains Thriving Communities Collaborative (MaPTCC). This full-time, term-limited position is funded by a 5-year cooperative agreement between the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Montana State University (MSU), administered by the Alliance for Tribal Clean Energy (ATCE). ABOUT THE ALLIANCE The Alliance for Tribal Clean Energy is an Indigenous-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit capacity-building organization supporting the self-determined efforts of Native American tribes to access and deploy federal and other funding streams to build and transition to regenerative clean energy systems as a means to mitigate climate change, diminish poverty, and create thriving economies while protecting Mother Earth for future generations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The Community Resource Engagement Specialist will:
● Establish relationships and build program awareness among the Tribes and Tribal organizations within Region 8 that will build capacity for effective engagement with governmental officials at all levels to ensure Tribal perspectives, experiences, and expertise inform the development of policies and programs, as well as delivery on environmental and energy justice issues. ● Deliver technical assistance programming for a range of program participants that builds their grantsmanship, project management, financial planning, sustainability, social, civic, economic, and leadership capacities. ● Connect Tribes and Tribal organizations with TCTAC volunteers for community-driven projects, including problem-solving meetings, research and reporting, and comprehensive, actionable emails. ● Track work in project databases and collect data and feedback to help monitor and evaluate outcome-based programs. ● Connect communities with additional technical, grant, legal, and scientific resources such as decision-makers within government, advocacy, and academia; federal and foundation grants; and pro bono legal support. ● Schedule meetings for communities and potential experts and organizations. ● Produce webinars, trainings, templates (including grant templates), and other capacity-building tools so that additional communities can benefit from TCTAC programming ● Broadly share findings formally and informally. ● Provide stipends, travel support, and subsistence to enable Native Americans, whether or not they are enrolled members of a Tribe, to participate in workshops, events, and facilitated meetings.

DESCRIPTION
The Director of Cybersecurity and Information Technology will report directly to the CFO and will be responsible for establishing, building, and implementing all Cybersecurity and Information Technology practices, policies, and support across Fervo. This position will be the first cybersecurity/IT hire at Fervo and will be expected to grow a multi-faceted team capable of building world-class cybersecurity practices to protect Fervo’s assets, operations, and people while also providing IT support to users across the Company.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to i) create and communicate a vision and strategy for cybersecurity and information technology, ii) build a team, and iii) effect organizational change in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. This role requires a true self-starter with the drive to turn ambiguity into action.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop & Implement IT and Cybersecurity Strategies: Analyze, assess, and prioritize Fervo’s immediate, medium, and long-term needs pertaining to cybersecurity, asset connectivity, and information technology support.
- Manage Security Operations: Supervise security operations, including incident response, vulnerability assessments, and security audits to ensure timely detection and resolution of security issues.
- Lead the IT Function: Build and manage a team capable of implementing and managing a broad set of services across the company, including cybersecurity, NERC compliance, operational support, end-user support, protection of critical infrastructure, and other information technology support. Serve as the senior authority in the organization, managing a team of technical experts that advise on all matters related to cybersecurity and information technology.
- Oversee network and system security: Direct the planning, implementation, and monitoring of all information technology systems and processes, including both hardware and applications.
- Lead Security Awareness Initiatives: Assist with training and spreading technology risk and control awareness within the company while building strong relationships and becoming a trusted risk and controls ambassador. Support requests from control functions such as internal and external IT audit in line with regulatory expectations as well as company-wide standards.
- Helpdesk Management: Oversee support to end users and ensure that service level objectives are met.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of relevant experience in risk management, cybersecurity, and/or information technology.
- Bachelor and/or master’s degree in computer science, programming, engineering, or a relevant technical field
- Broad and deep understanding of technical security concepts and familiarity with related technologies and infrastructure
- Proficiency in information security domains, including policies and standards, risk and control assessments (including pen tests, vulnerability scans, etc.), disaster recovery plans, access controls, regulatory compliance, technology resiliency, risk and control governance and metrics, incident management, secure systems development lifecycle, vulnerability management, and data protection.
- Expert level experience of cyber security; ability to set and drive the company’s strategic direction to deliver technology that meets internal and external needs, including protecting critical networks and data and preventing, detecting, and mitigating cyber-attacks and response and recovery planning following an incident

As the first Product Manager at Bedrock, you will set the business rationale and prioritization for our cross-functional product planning. Bedrock’s Product offering is technology-enabled construction of geothermal heating/cooling systems; as such, developing our technology and services involves tight coordination of Technology Engineering, Field Engineering, and Field Operations.
In these earliest stages as a geothermal heating/cooling company, Product development at Bedrock targets continuous capability expansion, risk reduction, and cost improvement. DESCRIPTION
The Project Engineer will lead the design, development, and construction of surface facilities and transmission interconnections across Fervo’s portfolio of geothermal energy developments. This role will be responsible for project initiation, assessment, and scoping, budget estimation, execution planning, scheduling, cost monitoring, and construction oversight. The Project Engineer will participate in or lead multidiscipline teams to support early phase project development. The Project Engineer will report to the Director of Surface Facilities. The position will be based out of one of Fervo’s office locations, with preference to the Houston or Reno office location, and will require regular travel to various field locations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Utilizing project management principles, knowledge, and experience to manage full life cycle of surface facilities at Fervo’s existing and proposed project sites
- Executing design, specification, and construction management of Organic Rankine Cycle geothermal power plant facilities, existing production facility upgrades, pipelines, gathering systems, and transmission interconnection buildouts
- Developing preliminary, and eventually honing, budgetary estimates and schedules for active and prospective projects
- Engaging and maintaining relationships with major equipment suppliers to optimize facility design

The Project Finance Counsel will play a critical role in structuring and closing financing deals for our innovative geothermal energy projects. The position will be responsible for overseeing project-level finance documents, including drafting and negotiating term sheets, commitment letters, loan documents, intercreditor agreements, and security agreements. The Project Finance Counsel will report to the Vice President, General Counsel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft and negotiate sophisticated financing documentation for project finance transactions, ensuring alignment with project goals and risk mitigation strategies
- Provide comprehensive legal advice and support to clients throughout the project finance lifecycle, from deal origination to closing
- Conduct thorough legal review of project documentation, including term sheets, commitment letters, contracts, agreements, and regulatory filings, identifying and addressing potential risks
- Research and analyze complex project finance laws, regulations, and industry best practices, staying current on evolving trends and legal developments
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, lenders, and investors, to develop and execute winning transactional strategies
- Assist in due diligence reviews, meticulously preparing transactional documents and closing materials.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in project finance transactions
- Assist in structuring FOAK geothermal projects, including drafting and implementing intercompany agreements acceptable to creditors and lenders
- Review major documents, such as PPAs, EPC agreements, etc. for financeability
- Works to ensure budget compliance and effectively manages the use of external counsel
QUALIFICATIONS
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the [Texas] State Bar or eligibility for admission by motion
- 8+ years of experience in project finance law, with a demonstrated track record of success in the renewable energy sector
- Strong competency in drafting and negotiating complex financing documents, including loan agreements, security agreements, and intercreditor agreements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain intricate legal concepts in a clear and concise manner

DESCRIPTION
The Senior Completions Engineer is responsible for leading the design, planning, and operational execution of Fervo’s first of a kind enhanced geothermal completions. The Senior Completions Engineer will work alongside the resource team to optimize completion parameters, identify novel technologies, provide engineering support, and collaborate with supply chain management support. This position will report to the Sr. Manager – Completions & Operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop step-by-step completion procedures to achieve well objectives and maintain full compliance with all regulatory and internal HSE requirements
- Develop completion cost estimates ranging from simple scoping estimates to probabilistic cost estimates
- Provide technical support on daily completion activities and serve as the primary point of contact for field engineering issues
- Support cross-functional field development optimization efforts through well planning and design optimization
- Compile technical and operations data for permitting and all other regulatory filings
- Lead after-action review to identify best practices and lessons learned; provide internal and external benchmarking and end of project reports
- Prepare tenders, analyze vendor responses, and support contract administration
- Proficiently work alongside reservoir engineers to stimulate fracture designs using ResFrac or other industry leading simulators
- Build relationships with drilling, workover, production and surface facilities personnel (Engineering and Operations) to effectively coordinate and provide support during business-critical needs
- Travel to the field frequently to oversee operations, and foster strong working relationships with field personnel and 3rd party vendors
QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with at least 2 different types of well completions technologies

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Technology Development Engineer (TD Engineer) position located in Calgary, AB. As a TD Engineer, you will work with a multidisciplinary team and play a key role in leading and managing the development of the well construction tools and systems that are essential for the success of our Eavor-Loop™. You will be involved in design, oversee product testing, be responsible for data interpretation, and commercializing unique technologies that can operate in the most challenging of deep geothermal environments.
This role requires local and international travel based on business needs.
Some of What you Will Do:
- Lead the development, testing, and implementation of geothermal technologies in well construction, for the Eavor-Loop™, in collaboration with key project partners.
- Propose concepts, design models, and simulate performance of concepts in harsh environment of geothermal well construction (temperature, pressure, vibration).
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure the successful integration and deployment of these solutions in well construction operations.
- Organize and oversee field tests to validate the performance and reliability of selected technologies.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for novel solutions in well construction, providing guidance and support to internal teams and external partners.

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering, or in a closely related field.

DESCRIPTION
The Turbomachinery Engineer will own the design, development, and construction of surface facility rotating equipment across Fervo’s portfolio of geothermal energy developments. The Turbomachinery Engineer will lead multidiscipline teams to support rotating equipment selection and design. This individual will also support existing project sites by developing operations/maintenance procedures and troubleshooting issues regarding plant rotating equipment. The Turbomachinery Engineer will report to the Engineering Team Lead.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing preliminary, and supporting final, designs for new/existing projects
- Leading specification, installation, and operation of plant turbomachinery/rotating equipment.
- Oversee design, manufacturing and Factory Assurance Tests (FATs) of selected equipment.
- Support plant operations teams with troubleshooting of issues regarding rotating/turbomachinery equipment.
- Engaging and maintaining relationships with major equipment suppliers
- Acting as the technical authority in supporting negotiations of major surface facility contracts
- Collaborating across technical and commercial teams to successfully deliver projects on time and on budget
- Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and executing ongoing continuous improvement measures
- Provide solutions and optimization support to operations to resolve day-to-day operational issues
- Develop/modify Operating/Maintenance procedures and assist with understanding/comprehension of material to provide safety and optimized performance
