The 2026 New Tech Awards
Geothermal Rising is proud to officially open submissions for the 2026 New Tech Awards, recognizing the groundbreaking technologies and advancements that are accelerating the global growth of geothermal energy.
Applicants need to be a Geothermal Rising Organizational Member or a 2026 GRC exhibitor.
As geothermal continues to expand its role in delivering reliable, affordable, and increasingly clean energy solutions, innovation remains at the heart of industry progress. The New Tech Awards honor the companies, researchers, developers, and entrepreneurs who are pushing technical boundaries and strengthening the geothermal value chain in the subsurface or surface categories
As submissions begin to arrive:

Judges will start reviewing early entries that meet the basic qualification criteria.

For those qualified, judges may reach out directly to request additional technical information, data, or clarifications to support a more in-depth evaluation.
Please ensure to submit non-confidential material and information
The New Tech Awards recognize groundbreaking geothermal innovations that advance the field through improved performance, efficiency, sustainability, or cost reduction. Technologies may be submitted under either subsurface or surface categories.
Please carefully review all directions and instructions to ensure your submission meets every requirement.

Throughout this same period:

New entries will continue to be accepted and screened.

Each submission will be evaluated, qualified, or disqualified based on the established criteria.

All qualified submissions will move to Phase 2, where they may also be contacted for further details as needed.
After the final deadline:

Judges will review all Phase 2 finalists.

The panel will identify standout innovations to spotlight in the two award categories:
• Subsurface Technologies
• Surface Technologies -
Winners will be notified in early summer to allow time for preparation before public recognition.
Participation in the Geothermal Rising New Tech Awards is reserved for current members and 2026 exhibitors of Geothermal Rising.
