Amplify and the New Zealand Geothermal Association are excited to deliver an extensive line-up of events for NZ Geothermal Week 2024, 1st - 6th July.

Now in its fourth year, NZ Geothermal Week is held in and around the Taupō Volcanic Zone, where New Zealand’s world-class geothermal industry is concentrated.  The week showcases and celebrates this thriving industry, which is well-positioned to help Aotearoa New Zealand, transition to a sustainable energy future. 

Renewable geothermal resources can deliver not only baseload electricity, but also off-grid heat energy for industrial processes and production systems, and sustainable recovery of minerals.  Baseload electricity and heat energy can also be used to produce other renewable fuels such as hydrogen and wood pellets. 

With many events for industry and business, schools and communities, everyone has a chance to get involved in sharing and learning about what geothermal has to offer. 

We invite you to take this opportunity to share and learn more about the New Zealand geothermal industry and join our journey towards a renewable energy future where the environment, local communities and businesses thrive.

"Catalyzing Investment for Geothermal Development in Africa " - ARGeo

ARGeo was officially launched in November 2010 at the opening session of the Third African Rift Geothermal Conference (ARGeo-C3) in Djibouti..

UN Environment ARGeo project aims at supporting the development of the large untapped geothermal resource potential in the Eastern Africa region with the main objective of reducing the risks associated with the resource’s exploration. ARGeo also aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by promoting the adoption of geothermal energy in the region.

ARGeo will also help demonstrate that the resource is reliable, cost effective and indigenous as compared to other sources of power in the Eastern Africa region. The utilization of the resource in agriculture and industry will also be promoted.

The 2025 Geothermal Rising Conference (GRC) will be held October 26-29 in at the Peppermill Resort in Reno, Nevada. The GRC is the geothermal industry’s flagship annual conference, reflecting the global nature of the geothermal industry and bringing together people in industry, academia, government, and the general public. Here we build relationships, discuss our opportunities and challenges, educate on the latest technologies and innovations, and inform people outside our community about geothermal energy.
