2025 Thermal Energy Networks Symposium

Description
Thermal Energy Networks (TENs) have quickly emerged as a leading solution ushering in a new frontier of cutting-edge applications. TENs are also known as Geothermal Energy Networks (GENs). Join us February 6-8, 2025 as we take a deep dive into the world of TENs and GENs!
Location
Cambridge, Massachusetts
Date
Symposium Overview - Why Thermal Energy Networks?

As states and municipalities nationwide are seeking energy solutions to reduce costs and increase reliability, while reducing and/or eliminating carbon emissions, Thermal Energy Networks (TENs) have quickly emerged as a leading solution to this energy conundrum. New York enacted the Thermal Energy Network and Jobs Act of 2022 which mandates utilities to implement Thermal Energy Networks.  Massachusetts enacted clean energy grid legislation in December 2024 that reforms the siting and permitting of clean energy facilities and reforms the gas distribution system to empower the gas to geo transition.

Participants in the 2025 Thermal Energy Networks Symposium will benefit from educational sessions and panels provided by leading industry experts focusing on the financing, design, implementation and installation of TENs systems.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about these cutting-edge solutions, collaborate with your peers and make new contacts to help you move forward with your TENs project!

2025 Geothermal Capitol Hill Day

Description
Geothermal Rising and the geothermal community took advantage of this opportunity to educate, inform, and share our story with policymakers, agency staff, think tanks, regulators, Hill staff, researchers, and clean energy and environmental NGOs working on policy in Washington, DC.
Location
May 13 -14, 2025 | Washington, DC
Date

Geothermal Capitol Hill Day is where policy meets possibility.

Each year, geothermal experts, engineers, students, and business leaders head to Washington to connect with Congressional leaders and showcase the power and promise of geothermal energy. This high-impact, two-day experience offers direct advocacy opportunities with lawmakers and a firsthand look at the policymaking process.

2025 Event Recap

Our Geothermal Capitol Hill Day event this year was a huge success!  We welcomed 52 participants from 31 organizations representing 17 unique sectors within the industry to D.C.  We met with over 100 congressional offices to highlight the immense potential of geothermal energy—and the smart policy needed to unlock it. Our conversations focused on the importance of sustained investment in innovation, protecting vital tax credits, and ensuring geothermal has a strong seat at the table in the clean energy transition.

From cutting-edge startups to established developers, our delegation showcased the breadth and strength of the U.S. geothermal industry. Together, we're advancing a future where geothermal plays a central role in reliable, affordable, clean energy nationwide.

Thank you to all who participated and to the policymakers who took time to engage with us. The momentum is building—and geothermal is just getting started.
