The GRC is the geothermal industry’s flagship annual conference, reflecting the global nature of the geothermal industry while highlighting the width and breadth of the community we have in geothermal energy - spanning science, engineering, social-economics, and government, and showcasing the eclectic mix of people that are involved: students, corporate entrepreneurs, politicians, professionals and researchers.
The conference offers technical, policy, and market sessions, educational seminars, tours of geothermal and renewable energy projects, and numerous networking opportunities. Our premier technical program highlights the importance of geothermal in the energy mix, not just in electricity generation but also in direct use of heat for district heating and industrial applications, and geothermal heat pumps in residential and commercial buildings.
The Expo presents exhibitors with the opportunity to maximize their exposure at the largest annual geothermal gathering in the world. It provides ample opportunities for engaging with partners and clients. It features a unique opportunity for leaders in the geothermal energy sector to showcase their projects, services and state-of-the-art technology and equipment to the geothermal community.

Geothermal Rising has negotiated a special block specifically for our event attendees. All conference attendees should make every effort to stay at the official event hotel. Supporting the official hotel room block provides staff support to resolve hotel reservation disputes; ensures attendees receive all applicable discounts and materials; and assists GR in maintaining affordable, quality programming.
Please note that neither the host hotel or their competitors will call or contact you directly about making reservations. To ensure your room is in the official Geothermal Rising Room Block, you should only book your room by using the housing link above or by calling the Marriott Marquis Houston directly.

- Single Day: Includes access to all plenary, technical, and panel sessions, exhibit hall, and all conference meal functions. *Only one single day pass may be purchased per individual. (Access applicable to all listed activities for day selected)
- Expo Only: Includes access to expo hall only.
- Spouse/Guest Registration: The spouse/guest registration must be accompanied by one full conference registration. This fee is not available for use by individuals employed with organizations affiliated with the GRC or are organizational members of GR. Spouse/Guest registration fee provides access to all networking and food functions including the Monday Night Mixer. Educational content is NOT included.
Early career professional members require a promotional code to obtain the registration rate. Please contact us at registration@geothermal.org to obtain the code.
Payment Policy: Payment is due upon receipt. Registrations must be paid, in full, prior to the conference and the corresponding deadline for the registration type as outlined below:
- Early Bird – Payment due to GR no later than June 24, 2026
- Standard – Payment due to GR no later than August 19, 2026
- Late – Payment due to GR no later than September 17, 2026
- Onsite – Onsite registrations must be paid in full at the point of sale
Cancellation Policy: Registration cancellation requests must be made in writing and emailed to registration@geothermal.org by Wednesday, August 19, 2026, for a partial refund. A $100 processing fee applies to cancellations postmarked or emailed by this date. NO REFUNDS will be made for cancellation requests after Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Substitution(s) can be made at any time, with prior approval.

This workshop introduces geoPFA, an open-source and extensible Python framework for advancing Play Fairway Analysis (PFA) beyond traditional 2D favorability mapping into 3D analysis and for prospecting, derisking, and facilitating to conceptual geothermal model development. Designed around National Laboratory of the Rockies’ Geothermal PFA Best Practices and FAIR software principles, geoPFA provides a transparent, reproducible workflow that complements existing industry tools and datasets by bridging the gap between regional resource data and prospect-scale conceptual models. geoPFA is intended to support existing workflows by providing a rapid and reproducible way to combine diverse geothermal datasets within a PFA framework for early-stage derisking, allowing users to spend less time on data processing and combination and more time refining assumptions and analyzing results. Participants will learn how to structure and execute PFA projects with geoPFA. This includes defining criteria, components, and data layers as geothermal indicators in three dimensions, integrating diverse subsurface and surface datasets, and translating favorability results into data-driven conceptual models and development scenarios. The workshop is designed to emphasize geoPFA’s flexibility: attendees will learn how to apply workflows to their own data, expert knowledge, and weighting strategies, and extend the framework to match project-specific exploration objectives and risk profiles.
Through guided examples from a range of geothermal settings, attendees will see how open, modular workflows can improve characterization for emerging geothermal technologies and accelerate early-stage exploration for more established resources. The workshop will also demonstrate how intuitive visualization tools can improve communication across disciplines and support translation of results into conceptual models. Together, these capabilities help teams make better-informed exploration and development decisions while maintaining full flexibility in assumptions, methods, and interpretations. Users can use geoPFA outputs to inform conceptual models, identify data and knowledge gaps, and prioritize areas where additional exploration and analysis may be warranted.

In this highly interactive half-day workshop, Geothermal Rising’s Brandy Obvintsev and Egg Geo’s Mimi Egg will show attendees how to become more effective ambassadors for geothermal by creating authentic, engaging content that expands awareness, strengthens community, and advances the industry’s collective voice.
Participants will explore today’s evolving social media landscape—including platforms such as LinkedIn, Reddit, Instagram, X, and emerging channels—and learn how each can support different audiences, from policymakers and business leaders to local communities and future workforce. The workshop also examines how artificial intelligence is changing content creation, discovery, and social algorithms, along with practical AI tools that help participants create better content in less time.
Rather than focusing on expensive production or polished marketing campaigns, this session emphasizes authentic storytelling, smartphone-first content, and simple habits that consistently generate engagement.
Attendees will learn what today’s algorithms reward, how often to post, how to increase reach organically, and how to turn everyday work experiences into compelling stories that inspire others.

Geothermal energy has faced only limited community opposition in the U.S. thus far. But as next-generation geothermal expands to new locations and grows in scale, more communities will encounter geothermal projects, and community opposition may grow. Next-generation geothermal techniques also raise additional community concerns that differ from those faced by conventional geothermal. This workshop draws on first-of-its-kind research and learnings from other industries to give developers, regulators, and local stakeholders practical tools to engage early, communicate risk clearly, and move projects forward with social license.
