NM RIG Virtual Event: Unlocking the Benefits of Community Geothermal

Thank you for joining us
Celebrate World Geothermal Day with the New Mexico RIG! Join us for an informative webinar exploring the potential of
geothermal energy and its transformative impact on small communities. The NM RIG is excited to host Emilie Gentry from Teverra. Teverra is a company with a vision to turn clean energy into reality. Emilie will share their work in Geothermal District Heating. Learn about their current project in Rico, CO, and how the community is harnessing a local geothermal resource to provide long term sustainable solutions for their energy needs. Attendees will learn about the local geology, community policy and permitting challenges, and how the community of Rico came together to leverage geothermal as a long term solution. Attendees will learn how Rico, CO can be a model for small communities across New Mexico to build more resilient, sustainable energy systems.

The New Mexico RIG attended the Advancing Geothermal Development Workshop

This pivotal workshop was designed to unite industry professionals, academics, and students to discuss and plan the future of geothermal energy in New Mexico. This workshop highlighted the Future of Geothermal Development in New Mexico report, written by New Mexico experts on topics ranging from Market Size, Energy Mix, & the Geothermal Transition to Subsurface Resource Characterization. Panel discussions will cover policy and regulation changes, workforce development, and university and National Lab research updates.

We appreciated those who stayed after the Workshop for a Networking Event Hosted by the New Mexico RIG.
