Kevin C. Holmes, PhD

Director of Research, BiaTech Corporation

Kevin’s dynamic career spans Engineering, Education, and Entrepreneurship. With a sharp focus on achieving results and nurturing both personal and business development, he has exhibited exemplary leadership across diverse domains.

He began his career with Schlumberger and worked for over 15 years at Baker Hughes. During his tenure, he progressed from a research and development engineer to holding senior leadership positions. He managed burgeoning business verticals for optical well monitoring and intelligent completions before taking the helm of the most impactful research and innovation in the oilfield service sector. His adeptness at cross-functional collaboration enabled him to partner effectively with diverse teams spanning technology, marketing, operations, finance, and more.

Recognized as a people-oriented leader with a track record of delivering tangible outcomes, Kevin leverages his interpersonal skills, technical acumen, and business savvy to craft winning strategies and drive success. He is deeply committed to lifelong learning and possesses a fervent passion for mentoring and sharing knowledge with others. Embracing the ethos of "fail fast, learn faster," he encourages those around him to embrace challenges, learn from experiences, and swiftly apply insights to novel situations.

With a Ph.D. and M.S. in Material Science and Engineering, alongside a B.S. in Engineering from Vanderbilt University, Kevin's academic prowess is complemented by his practical expertise. He holds several patents and maintains an innovative mindset, continually seeking novel solutions to complex problems. Throughout his career, Kevin has contributed to academic journals, presented at prestigious workshops and conferences, and played a pivotal role in organizing industry forums.

In February 2024, Kevin embarked on a new chapter by joining BiaTech Corporation to spearhead research and engineering efforts, driven by his passion for addressing the challenges of industrial decarbonization. His appointment reflects his commitment to driving meaningful change and innovation in pursuit of sustainability goals.

Anine Pedersen

Director of Science and External Affairs, Geothermal Rising

Anine Pedersen is Director of Science and External Affairs at Geothermal Rising, the largest and oldest geothermal membership organization in the world. GR serves to build community and empower the geothermal industry by representing all geothermal technologies and applications from ground source heat pumps to supercritical hot rock and everything in between. Anine is a
multidisciplinary geologist with broad experience from the oil and gas, tech and geothermal industries. She holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in geology from The University of Texas at Austin.
