Webinar Title: Campus Heat, Regional Reach: Geothermal and TENs in Action
Webinar Description: Join the Geothermal Rising Pacific Northwest Regional Interest Group (PNW RIG) for a compelling webinar showcasing innovative geothermal and district energy systems shaping the future of sustainable infrastructure.
Delano Palmer of Central Washington University will present a micro-case study on CWU’s geothermal heating and cooling project, offering a deep dive into the technical design, implementation, and performance of campus-scale geothermal systems.
Nicholas Fry of Jacobs will follow with a high-level overview of Thermal Energy Networks (TENs), focusing on district and campus energy systems and their role in regional decarbonization strategies.
As a supporting theme, both presenters will touch on workforce development—exploring how students and professionals can engage with the growing geothermal and TENs sectors. Delano will share insights on preparing university-aged students for careers in energy, while Nicholas will highlight relevant skills, certifications, and career pathways in the TENs space.
This session is ideal for energy professionals, educators, students, and anyone interested in the technical and workforce dimensions of geothermal and district energy systems.
