2020 Scholarship Award Recipients
Geothermal Rising acknowledged the 2020 Geothermal Rising Scholarship Award winners at the 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting.
The Marcelo Lippmann Graduate Scholarship is given to five graduate students based on a variety of factors including the individual’s academic record, student activities, geothermal industry experience, and career goals. Unlike previous years, we awarded six scholarships this year. Selecting this year’s scholarship recipients was an extremely difficult task for the Education Committee due to the number of outstanding applications that were received. Without further ado, this year’s Marcelo Lippmann Graduate Scholarship winners:
- Nolan Dellerman, University of Nevada, Reno, Geology (Master's degree)
- Hubert Langevin, Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS-ETE), Earth Sciences (Master's degree)
- Marcos Miranda, The Ohio State University, Environmental Engineering, Civil, Environmental, and Geodetic Engineering Department (Ph.D.)
- Rita Okoroafor, Stanford University, Energy Resources Engineering (Ph.D.)
- Elizabeth Oliphant, University of Oxford, Energy Systems (Master's degree)
- Connor Smith, University of Nevada, Reno, Geophysics (Master's degree)
